Note: Maine has eased travel restrictions. Click on the button below for the latest information
We’ve already started receiving reservations for our 2021 season. While we’re thrilled to see our guests again and help people enjoy all that Maine has to offer, we wanted to help you determine whether or not you can travel to Maine during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Maine has created an App for guests to use before traveling. This app lets you know what the current travel restrictions are and has you sign an electronic form certifying that you meet the criteria for travel and will follow best practices while in Maine. It’s called The Pledge to Protect Maine.
A copy of it is kept with the state and then they inform us of which of our guests have submitted it. While the rules have changed as the situation has changed, currently guests not from states other than Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont must meet one of the following three requirements:
- A positive PCR test taken within the last 3 months and already completed your isolation
- Received a negative antigen or molecular test result for COVID-19 on a specimen taken no longer than 72 hours prior to my arrival
- Quarantine 10 days while in Maine before arriving at the hotel or quarantine 10 days at the hotel.
While it hasn’t been announced yet, my best guess is that Maine will eventually allow proof of vaccination as one of the requirements.
You are required to fill out the form and attest to this BEFORE we are allowed to check you into our hotel. So we’re asking guests to keep these requirements in mind and to login and certify before leaving for your trip. Feel free to check it out now, but know that it may change as the Covid situation changes.
The states that are exempt from these requirements changes as the infection rates change. To find out the latest check out the Covid 19 information page on The Maine Tourism Association’s website.
Do you think you’ll be able to meet these requirements and are ready to reserve your room?
