We’ve already started receiving reservations for our 2021 season. While we’re thrilled to see our guests again we wanted to help you determine whether or not you can travel to Maine so you can plan your trip.
Maine has created an App for guests to fill out before traveling, it’s called The Pledge to Protect Maine. This page lets you know what the current travel restrictions are and has a place for you to sign an electronic form once you’ve reserved a room to certify that you meet all the criteria for travel and will follow best practices while in Maine.
The state keeps a copy of your pledge then lets us know they’ve received it. An electronic or paper copy of the signed pledge is required before we’re allowed to check anyone into their room.
Maine’s requirements and restrictions have changed as the pandemic changes. Currently guests from Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont can simply reserve a room. Everyone else will have to meet one of the three criteria listed below:
- A positive PCR test taken within the last 3 months and already completed your isolation
- A negative antigen or molecular test result for COVID-19 on a specimen taken no longer than 72 hours prior to my arrival
- Quarantine for 10 days in state before checking in or quarantine for 10 days at the hotel itself
My best guess is that by the time we open for the season on May 27th Maine will be accepting people who have been vaccinated, but this has not been announced as of yet.
The rules on which states are allowed to enter without meeting these requirements have changed over time. Check out Maine Tourism Association’s Travel Resources Page to find the latest information.
