CHECK IN / CHECK OUT TIMES
Check-In starts at 3:00 pm. If your room is ready earlier we’re happy to check you in early, we just can’t guarantee that all rooms will be ready until 3 pm. If you know you have to arrive early please contact us to help us prioritize your room. The office is open until 10 pm between Memorial Day and Labor Day. During the slower months of April, May, and October the office closes at 9 pm.

Check-Out is 11 am. It is difficult for us to accommodate late check-outs as we have very few of each room type and the maids have to get the room ready for the next guests. Because of this late check-outs are discouraged and may be charged a fee. People who need to stay a little longer are welcome to spend time in our dining room. It has wifi, bathrooms and coffee/tea/hot chocolate to enjoy while you wait.
Pets are allowed only in designated pet friendly rooms. Pets are also allowed in the lobby but not in the dining room. Guests may have up to 3 pets, there is a $10 fee/pet/day. There are no size or breed restrictions but pets must be well behaved. Pets are allowed at the picnic tables, on the trail, and at other outdoor spaces as long as they are on a leash and under control at all times. Pet waste must be picked up immediately, pet waste bags and garbage cans are provided for guest use. Pets are not allowed in the dining area or in any room that is not designated pet friendly. There is a $250 restoration fee if pets are brought into non-pet friendly areas without prior permission. Pets may be left unattended in our pet friendly rooms but maids will not enter rooms when owners are not present. We offer maid service from 9 am to 2 pm and are happy to work with you to try to find a time to service your room. We can provide contact information for pet day care centers to keep your pet active and happy while you are away. Owners are responsible for pet related damage above normal wear and tear.
Smoking is not allowed within 20 feet of any of our buildings. No smoking is allowed in the rooms or on the porches. We have picnic tables and Adirondack chairs spread throughout the property at distances more than 20 feet from the buildings. Please feel free to smoke in those locations. We ask that you dispose of your butts in the metal cans located on the grounds rather than in your room. There is a minimum of $250 restoration fee for smoking inside buildings or on porches.
A deposit equal to your first night stay plus tax (9%) will be charged to your credit card at the time you make your reservation. Payment in full is due at check-in. A valid credit card and photo ID must be presented at time of check-in.
There is a minimum of a $25 fee for all canceled reservations. If you cancel your reservation more than 5 days in advance of your stay only a $25 fee will be applied, the remainder of your deposit will be credited to the credit card on file. Reservations that are canceled less than five days before the reservation begins will be charged the full deposit. There is no fee for modifying a reservation more than 5 days before you arrive, there may be a fee for changing a reservation less than 5 days before the reservation begins. Why We Have a Cancellation Fee
Hotels without a cancellation fee have up to a 38% cancellation rate. This works for large chains with only two room types and the ability to overbook, but would be devastating to us. Because our lodge was built and remodeled over the course of 100 years, we have 12 room types. All of our room types have four or fewer rooms. We cannot overbook or easily switch people between rooms. If a room is booked it is taken and not available to anyone else. If someone cancels later we could lose not only that room night but the nights before and after as people wanting longer stays won’t book if even one room night is unavailable during their visit. Over half our guests plan their stay weeks in advance, so even a five night notice is often not enough to re-book lost rooms. A cancellation fee ensures that guests are planning to keep their reservation and compensates us for lost income in the event of a cancellation.

We sometimes use data collection devices such as “cookies” on certain pages of the Site to measure effectiveness and safety. A “cookie” is a small file that gets placed on your harddrive that helps us provide our services. You are free to decline cookies if you choose too.
At Wiscasset Woods Lodge, we take security seriously. When users make a reservation we use every precaution to safe guard it online and offline.
Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.
