This is one of my favorite days of the year. We stumbled upon this event during our trip out to Maine to look at purchasing the hotel. We were even interviewed by the Portland Press Herald that day.
Each year they open about two dozen lighthouses to the general public. Most of these lighthouses are rarely, if ever, accessible to the average person. So come out and take advantage of this great opportunity. Lighthouses are open from 9 am to 3 pm unless otherwise noted.
This year’s open lighthouses include:
Wood Island Lighthouse
Portland Head Lighthouse
Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse
Portland Breakwater Lighthouse
Seguin Island Lighthouse
Doubling Point Lighthouse
Burnt Island Lighthouse
Pemaquid Point Lighthouse
Marshall Point Lighthouse
Owls Head Lighthouse
Curtis Island Lighthouse
Grindle Point Lighthouse
Fort Point Lighthouse
Dyce Head Lighthouse
Monhegan Island Lighthouse
Burnt Coat Harbor Lighthouse
West Quoddy Head Lighthouse
Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse
Goat Island Lighthouse
Squirrel Point Lighthouse
Whitehead Lighthouse
Come enjoy this once a year opportunity on Saturday, September 14th, 2019. Book your room today here.
